Christ the King Church is located near another popular tourist attraction - Coaker’s Walk. Earlier known with the name of Union Church, this church was built in the year of 1895. It was constructed by an American Madurai Mission.

Christ the King Church has been built with stone presenting a simplistic architectural style although one can see influence of Colonial style of architecture and Gothic Architecture. An alluring image of Lord Jesus can be seen at the main altar of the church. There are wooden chairs in the front of altar. Painted glass windows add an artistic touch to the interiors of the church.

The opening timings of Christ the Church is from 6.30 AM to 12 PM. It then closes in afternoon and again opens in evening at 3 PM to 8.30 PM. The masses in the Church are usually held in Tamil Language.

There is no entry fee for Christ the King Church. The best time to visit the church is on Sundays. On festivals such as Christmas and Easter, the church is decorated beautifully, adding on to its structural beauty.
