Also called as the "Grand cascade", Pambar Falls is a magnificent falls located at a distance of is 4kms from Kodaikanal. To reach the falls, one needs to trek through a steep and dangerous path behind Pambar house. The Pambar River flows down over serious of rock formation in a zigzag stream. The Pambar Fall is formed on its way when the rural community reservoir overflows southwards so as to join the Vaigai River. At the end of the fall, there is a tub like natural formation offering a good sight for bathing in its fresh water. The area around the falls has rich flora and fauna and many birds and butterflies can be noticed here.
Other waterfalls beautifying the hill station of Kodaikanal are Bear Shola Falls, Thalaiyar falls, and Silver cascade. There are many other places for sightseeing also.
